We started our business in September 2012 as a small, take-away sandwich shop in Braintree town centre. We served the local community for over a decade with freshly made sandwiches to order, locally roasted coffee and homemade cakes, building up a loyal customer base where we saw regular, returning customers each day. During our time in our first shop, we always craved more space! Space for customers to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, a slice of cake and a chat as well as more space for us to work in. After looking for the right opportunity for quite some time, we were presented with the café space next to Braintree Museum and we started work in April 2022 to create our first "sit in" café. We are extremely proud to be associated with such a landmark of the town.

We opened our new café in August 2022, which has given us the ability to expand, both in our menu choices and being able to offer a comfortable dining-in experience within the wonderful old building which used to be part of the Manor Street school. Using the Museum's archive, we are very lucky to display old photographs of Braintree town from years gone by and we feel this adds to the charm and setting of our café.

We still make the same high quality sandwiches using bread delivered by our local baker every morning. All of our sandwich fillings are made in store each day. Along with breakfast options, afternoon teas and jacket potatoes we have plenty of choice for you. Our coffee beans are locally roasted and are speciality grade and direct trade too. Our cakes are homemade by us and we offer a vast selection from brownies and blondies to our most popular carrot cake and old favourites such as bread pudding and Viennese whirls.

We continue to offer a delivery service whether it be for individual lunch orders or supplying lunch platters for workplace meetings, celebrations or gatherings. For more details regarding our outside catering and deliveries, please contact us.

We pride ourselves on our high quality food and drinks along with the service we provide and we love to see the familiar and friendly returning customers each day as well as seeing new faces too. We look forward to welcoming you!
